    Why will interior lights not switch off on 97 Jeep?
    My 97 Jeep interior lights remain on after the doors are shut and the key removed

    Check to be certain the switch isn't turned to the ON position.
    Make certain all the door switches are working. If the interior lighting system 'sees' a door ajar, it will turn on the lights.

    At the light in the ceiling of the car may be a three position switch...
    Test it again in each position...
