Hi I thought I would email you as I am very confused right now and looking for some advice. My partner and I decided to try for a baby, I stopped my pill Oct 6, started the folic acid. Period was due Oct 9 but got hardly anything, one day very light. Then the next period due November arrived on the 11th, first day a bit heavy and then for 2 or 3 days thereafter all normal. Now here's when my problem arises, my periods have always been light, they arrive 2-3 days after I would be due to stop the pill, last only 2 or 3 days, no cramping no problems. This month they have arrived on the 8th, yesterday (sat), started light all normal, however this morning I woke destroyed completely, couldn't make it to the bathroom properly as there was blood on the floor of bedroom, bathroom, it was all over me, it was everywhere, had to jump straight into the shower, thereafter seemed to have eased off slightly but I am still feeling dodgy, weak and a bit qeazy... can you suggest what and why this may have happened and what my next course of action should be? I don't know what to do...

Most likely it is due to the hormonal shift in your body from the pill back to your natural hormones. If you find you are changing your pad once an hour or more, you should seek medical attention.
