Legal forums india for cancelling wedding after engagement
I got engaged on Oct 18th 2012. Now I want to cancel the marriage as I found the girls family doesn't respect me or anyone in my family. Girls family wants to take complete control over me and my finances. They don't want to allow any of my family member to decide on the house I'm going to rent or any household things. I feel I'm trapped. We never asked for even a single rupee dowry or demanded any thing else from them. Not sure they want to file a false case against me and my relatives. We also want to call them for a discussion and pay 50% of engagement expenses and tell them that I'm not interested to take this to next step. Please let me know the steps to be taken if the girls family files false complaints against me and my relatives.
