Blonde with a bit of brass to brown

My hair was vibrant red so I correct coloured it and put a neutral blonde on it.. it has a little tinge of brass to it.. I want to go any shade of brown with blonde chunks... how shall I do this? Do I use neutral brown and use bleach for the highlighted parts?
