Can my mom add me to lease as an occupant
My mom has perfect credit and has an apartment in Georgia and wants to add me to her lease as an occupant but the apartment complex said I have to do a credit check as well, I don't have good credit . So my mom wants to break the lease because I have no where to live and they said I got denied . What can we do ?

I doubt if this is grounds to break the lease. But I question why they would need a credit check or whether your not having good credit has a bearing. As long as your mother is still the sole leaseholder and solely responsible for the rent, your credit should have no bearing.

I would tell her to appeal to the building management and question why you were denied occupant status. I would tell the management company that if they don't allow you to live with her, then she will leave as soon as the lease is up.

How long does the lease have to run? What does it say about the number of people living in the unit or about allowing occupants?
