    Electrical questions
In my garage I have a light bulb socket controlled by a light switch. I want to remove the bulb socket and install an electrical outlet I can plug into. The bulb socket has a white and red wire connected to it. Where do I connect the white and red wire onto the outlet? One to hot and the other to common? Which to which?

    Welcome to AMHD rx3

Connect the red wire to the brass screw and the white wire to the silver screw. The outlet will be controlled by the switch.

Installing a GFCI outlet would be a good idea...

Installing a GFI would be code required.
Also, how is a receptacle going to fit in a (most likely) round fixture box?

    Thanks Chuck!
