    Sump Pump over half full
I am a homeowner an live in Jerseyville IL,
When I went in the laundry room, I saw water... everywhere.
After moving everything, I noticed the sump pump was over 1/2 full.
How do I turn it on... I couldn't find a switch anywhere in sight.

I'm seriously worried that my basement will flood, which hasn't happened since 10'.
    Thanks for the help,
    Mariam

Sump pumps shouldn't have a switch you have to turn on.. they have a float that that turns it on when a certail level of water accumulates in the sump.

Most likely your pump is bad and needs replaced.

Check the outlet pump is plugged into for power. If you have power, pump has an exposed float, lift float by hand and see if pump goes on.

If it doesn't then smoothy is right. Need a new pump.
