Shower control knob (cold) is leaking.
Before it really went crazy we had to push cold control valve over to get water to shut off. It woild continue to spray out of yhe shower nozzle. Last night the control knob broke out and water gushed out in a torrent. I had to turn water off from outsode because I couldn't find a separate shut off valve for the shower. I bought a new handle and stem but it will not grip the threading in a pvc connection behind the handle base. How do I fix this? I have it rigged to stay but water is pouring constantly from the shower. I have to turn it off and on from outside. Its crazy.
