The flame goes on and off many times then finally stays on. Is it a bad gas valve with a weak internal spring. The furnace is running while this happens then the blower comes on.

I am having problems with my heating system/thermostat.(7 yo Carrier gas) I have my thermostat set at 73 or 75.
