Coleman furnace won't light... Gas Valve?
    Furnace: Coleman G8c series
Gas Valve: White Rogers 36E52-204 (Not made anymore)
Led blinks 7 times meaning lock out

The igniter glows and the vent blower comes on when calling for heat
But the burners won't light. I used to be able to pound on the gas valve and the burners would light, but not so anymore. It tries three times then locksout.
I am thinking it is the gas valve but would like to be sure before buying one. I do have a voltmeter. Is there anything else it could be and how do I check?

Does it have a thermocouple? I would check that first.

No, it has an igniter which does glow when calling for heat. It tries three times and then locks out. Thanks..

That does not mean it has no thermocouple. The thermocouple merely senses whether the flame is lit. It has either a thermocouple or a flame rod, or another type of sensor. Whatever is proving the flame is not doing it.

It's not a flame proving issue because it never lights. There are two wires to the gas valve, /the gas valve runs on 24 volts AC. So set your meter to the next scale over 24 vac. Turn on furnace and watch what meter does.

There IS 24 vac on the 2 gas valve wires when calling for a flame ? Yes... gas valve is bad or no gas.
