My ex girlfriend doesn't love me anymore

18 months ago I ended my relationship with my girlfriend as it was creating a lot of pain and hurt for the both of us. There was a lot of arguing, miscommunication and at times lack of direction between the both of us. I loved her very much and tried so hard to make it work but in the end enough was enough and I did what was right at the time. Just recently I contacted her and we met up, to this day I still think about her and I still have feelings for her, I compare her to other girls I have met and I still think about her. I decided to lay this to rest and confronted her about my feelings, I told her I still care about her and I still love her and that if there was anything there maybe we could work on it. Well I know she still cares about me and has a special place in her heart for me but she was reluctant to answer anything I had to say and basically said she had changed as a person and didn't feel anything for me anymore, she has changed so much as a person. The thing that hurts is I ended the relationship which was the best thing at the time and now she claims she doesn't love me anymore. I told her if you truly love someone you always will, she feels otherwise. I'm not sure what to do, I always think of her and what we had but she has probably moved on, should I fight for it or just except gods will and move on for good? Thanks |

'I told her if you truly love someone you always will' is a superficial and simplistic argument. You can't make generalizations about love. Even a parent who loves his CHILD for 18 YEARS may throw that child out when he turns 18, if that child and he can't get along. She knows that you wouldn't get along any better a second time than you did the first. Let it go. You have to anyway - she said so, and the person who is no longer interested is the one who has the say so.
Willing to wait and hope years and years? Send her a birthday card each year, with nothing but 'Wishing and hoping' on it. You never know what might happen after a bunch of other failures. Do NOT contact her any other way or more often. |
