Different type of toilet shut off valve
I need switch out a cracked tank on my toilet
But my shut off valve in all of my bathrooms are
Made the same in that they turn and turn with
Absolutely no effect on the water flowing to my
Tank. This is a fairly new house (built in the last
5 years) so I am wondering did the builder's use
A different type of shut off valve and if so, how
Can I shut the water off to make my repairs.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi Mocity

Try pushing the handle in... if that doesn't work, hold the body of the valve and try pulling the handle outward. Few plumbers use these push/pull shutoffs, but in some parts of the country they are readily available and popular (usually white or gray in color).
