Does anyone have any info on this artist?
I am looking for any info on the artist M J Kenagy who did this pair of Emmett Kelly Charcoal works. I believe they were originally purchased in Portland Oregon but have been unable to find any artist info. I appreciate any help.

I am also looking for more information of this artist. I have a couple paintings by him that were probably done in the 1960s. One is of Souix Chief "Shot in the Eye" and the other is of Archie Ben of the Siletz Indian Dancers (sic) from Oregon.

My grandpa bought these paintings back in the 60s. He taped M.J. Kenagy's business card to the back. It simply says "M J Kenagy : Oils - Pastels - Portraits : 1500 West Amerige, Fullerton, Calif. 92633 : Phone 871-1148. I've looked up the address and it's a residence and the phone has no answer.

What is most interesting is that my grandpa also did a couple of paint by number clowns maybe as far back as the 1940s. The clown is the exact clown shown in the photos above. In one the clown is on a unicycle and in the other it's just standing around looking sad.

Fullerton is right next to Anaheim. There was a time my grandpa was hoping to get in with Disney studios. I wonder if by any chance this could have been how he came across Kenagy~~~

Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm very sorry to hear that your mom passed away so recently. Her work was always hanging in my grandparents' house. I really associate your mom's art with my grandpa especially. If you would be up for it I would love to connect with you more. I'd like to learn more about your mom and her art. It would make me feel like I connected with my grandpa in some way. Please let me know if you'd like to exchange emails off the public forum.

    Thank You~~
