    My husband is in jail for stolen gun charge he is waiting to be indicted in MS. How long can it take

    As long as they want it to take. There's no set time. It depends on the people involved. You'll have to ask them.

    Hello T:

    They have 72 hours to file charges on him... Obviously, they've done that and are seeking an indictment to bolster their charges...

    If they've NOT filed charges and given him a bail hearing, he needs a lawyer. He needs a lawyer anyway, but he really needs one NOW.

    They need to set bail. They can take months to ever get to trial, in Georgia on a charge like this, the average time to trail is about 12 to 14 months. If a person does not make bail, sometimes it is a little faster.
