    What is a sigma bond?
Im supposed to figure out how many valence electrons from ethyl acetate are used to form sigma bonds, but I don't understand what a sigma bond is or a pi bond for that matter. I've never done chemistry before and I feel like I've been thrown in the deep-end with all of this stuff :(

Do a Google search for sigma bonds vs. pi bonds. There are very easy to understand results, including YouTube videos.
