I'm 56 years old and when we do they doggie style my back hurt some. I feel like I'm hurting my spine, am I?

An older individually doing doggy style would probably have a sore back depending on how long it went on. I wouldn't say you are 'hurting' your spine, if you mean causing damage.

Might want to get that checked out by a doctor. It could be strain or somethig more serious. I am 32 an my wife is 29, and we've never had a problem with doggy style. She really likes it, for her cowgirl and reverse cowgirl hurt her hips.

As you age things you used to do become a bit more difficult. I would advise that you start working on your core in the gym to strengthen your back so you can do a doggy style if you so choose. Seek the help of a physician, back pain is the worst.

Depends on how fit you are at 56. I am the male of course, but what position are you on all fours or head more down ?

Have you tried some of the large pillows made almost just for that, to help support you.

Of course a cradle on your side can give you almost the same angle, but perhaps less force for the man.

It may depend entirely on where the pain is coming from. I have arthritis in my back, and sometimes doggy style can HELP (as can being on my knees and arching my back inward and outward even without sex)

But if the pain is muscular or skeletal, it may be that doggy style will just hurt and you should find an easier position.

Doggy style is much more comfortable leaning entirely on the bed
