Is what wrong? Giving your boys a better chance when you can't provide one? Just make sure everything is legal.

Ideally you should have all the kids with you, and their father should contribute enough support that you can manage it, so the kids can be raised together. However, these are tough times and if it's not possible, then you need to negotiate with their father how things will work out, and make sure you have liberal visitation so the kids all have a lot of time together. You will need to be very careful so the boys do not feel dumped or like they are second in importance to you.

Why ideally ? Fathers get custody often now, when I divorced I got custody of my son over his mother.
Ideally the child goes to both jointly or to the parent who can care best for them.

Ideally, BOTH parents should cooperate for the good of the children.

Do you think their father will be a responsible parent? Does he work outside the home? Is this possible, and he's willing?
Don't listen to people telling you that you are a bad mother for this arrangement. Just say that it's because both of you love them and want the best.

I mispoke - I should have said that ideally, the siblings should all be together.
