    Cyst, Polyp, or Wart?
A year ago I had tested positive for chlamydia and quickly was treated. I have had multiple follow up exams with no trace of any abnormalities, and I haven't been sexually active since. A close friend of mine recently was diagnosed with genital warts, and told me that nearly everyone has some form of the HPV virus. I of course rushed home to examine EVERYTHING. Upon doing so, I did find something alarming. Near the opening of my vagina, when you peel back the labia minora, there is a skin-tag like bump, and the only one of its kind. After poking and prodding it, it became a little raw and irritated of course, almost feels like a cut. Is this a cyst, polyp, or possible wart? I can provide a picture. Would appreciate any advice before freaking myself out until I can get into see a doctor.

Please do not post pictures of your girly parts. We have children that view this site.

I was able to see the photo prior to removing it and it looks like nothing more than a skin tag which is very common.

My apologies! Looked for posting guidelines regarding that type of thing and wasn't sure. Now I know. :) Thank you for your quick reply. Is there a reason that these type of skin tags occur? Will it go away or is it something I would have to have removed?

    Thank you again!

Skin tags are just normal to some people. It has nothing to do with infection, diseases, etc. It's probably been there all your life and you've never noticed it until your friend freaked you out.

No need to have it removed unless it is painful.
