    No, that's not true. Persons who have minimum wage jobs who have children qualify for the Earned Income Credit, and college students can qualify for the American Opportunity Credit without having ANY job.

    Neisha:

    Did you have ANY type of job in 2012? If not, you may want to try to get a seasonal job for Xmas to qualify for the Earned Income Credit (EIC). To get the EIC, you MUST have some earned income.

    Actually you can qualify for the EIC without children and without minimum wage jobs.
    Just a maximum total wage for the year.
