Ive presented my spouse to my parents but my dad is rejecting him simply because he is from another village.We are both cameroonians from the north west region and the only difference is the village.How can I convince my dad to approve my marriage

Was your dad aware you were dating or talking to him about marriage ?

What is the normal custody of your sociality about arranging marriage. Is it normal for you to introduce, or should his family elder come to talk to your dad first, Was some normal customs not done?

Greetings to you in Cameroon! I'm a woman in the US and met a man from Cameroon about 35 years ago. He told my roommate and me that he wasn't supposed to stay in the same room with us after dark. I think he told us that his parents would arrange his marriage. I know customs change, but I too am curious about what most parents want in your country.

I wonder if talking about genetics would help. It should be better for future children to have the gene pool be as diverse (wide spread) as possible. I think it is the custom in many countries in Africa for marriages to be required to be with someone from another village. But if this is a strict custom in yours, then you may have to decide between your fiancé and your parents.
