Yes, I believe it. I worked in public libraries for years. If a library patron is rude and crabby and even mean, the staff does its best to avoid that person and give him short shrift. If a patron is agreeable and even nice, the staff is smiling and helpful. We are told to give all patrons equally good service, but the attitude of each patron does make a difference. It's only human nature. Karma = what comes around goes around.
Amazingly, if library staff makes a special effort to engage an unhappy or rude patron, often the patron will change his attitude and get nice. It works this way in any relationship.
