L1 without payroll running - is it Legal?
    Hi,

Wondering whether a person who is working on L1 for more than 9 months (6 months in 2006 + 3 months in 2007) can be without W2? Is it valid for the compnay not to run the payroll if the person is on L1?

    Pl. let me know.

    Thanks.

    MSR:

It is POSSIBLE that, based on the distribution of work over 2006 and 2007 and based on HOW you got paid (either in the home country currency instead of U.S. dollars), you are NOT LIABLE for U.S. income taxes.

I would need to know more about your circumstance to say definitively, but you need to investigate the possibility that your salary is currently exempt from U.S. taxes.
