FORD 2003/2004 6.0 diesel using coolent and locking out computer
I have a 2003/2004 built 11/25/2003 it uses coolent about 3/4 gal. in 12000 miles . It started to lose the pedel and had no power it then quit running ,it would turn over but would not start,I changed both fuel filters and checked fuses still turn over but will not start. After 20 min. or so still will not start . I disconnected both batteries a than reconnected them and it started and ran until I got to the shop no codes were found I added 3/4 gal. coolent to the system and it has not happened again. Does this engine have a shot down when it does not have enough coolent ? I did not see the temperature gauge over heat but the system was low. Should I not drive it or what does this engine have any recall it only has 87K I am thinking about selling it because it may leave me any wear.
