my dog won't eat and keeps being sick
my dog is 12 years old and has always been a active dog until 2 week ago ,when after a jog he was sick which I thought was unusal because it was 4pm in the afternoon and he hadn't eaten since the night before yet it was his full meal he fetched back.He wouldn't eat much after that and carried on being sick. This was a Friday afternoon and he was no better by Monday so we took him to the vets who give him 2 injections (1 anti sickness 1 antibiotics)and told us 2 stave him for 24 hours then offer light food and we had antibiotics and anti sickness medicine for him.We struggled get either down him and he wouldn't eat anything(but kept eating grass 2 make himself sick) after the 24 hours. So 2 days later we returned to the vets .She gain him a 2 day injection off antibiotics and told us 2 try stop him eating grass and try all his favourite foods ,but still wouldn't eat ,we return to the vets on Saturday and the vet kept him in .He had blood test,x rays and he even opened him up but not found nothing which could be causing him to be sick or not eat ,the vets thinks it might be a neurological problem .We have him home on anti sickness /antibiotics and another injection daily, but he still won't eat and he still being sick and still wants 2 eat grass. He's lost a lot off weight ,he isn't happy ,he tries hiding,we return to the vets every couple of days and we fear the worst ,I've tried all different food and even tried focusing food in his mouth.

First, sorry but why would you jog with a l2 year old dog; does the vet or you think that maybe he is trying to tell you something? I don't know what kind of dog you have but a medium sized dog at 12 is a very senior citizen. You did say he was trying to hide; this is just what a dog tries to do when it knows it just can't go on any longer.

When the vet 'opened him up' did he expect to find a bowel blockage? That was extreme measures for an older dog really.
