    Toilet tank noises
Have done minor repairs on toilet myself in past, valve, flapper etc, however I can't seem to stop a running water sound that just started. I checked the float, it was working, shutting off the water when it reached the water mark. The water shut off, the flapper was seated properly and the water was not going over the overfill valve. Still it sound like water is running in the float valve and won' t stop. I so not see any water going into the tank nor is the tank filling up. Any ideas

Photo 1. I have replaced the valve body in the past, so I do know how to do that. I recently changed the flapper and made sure the chain is not caught underneath. I checked the water level and it is not going over the fill valve, and the float does shut off the water. The sound actually seems like it is coming out of the cap, but there is no water running in the tank nor the bowl. Thanks

This "running water sound". Does it sound like it's under pressure or something draining? Let me know. Tom

More like something draining, similar to when the toilet is running.

Tonight at bed time place some food coloring in the toilet tank and let it set for a few hours. So you see any color in the bowl? Let me know, Tom
