    Sub Panel Recommendations?
I currently have a 200amp main breaker panel located in my garage.
From the garage to the house is a buried line that feeds a 60amp fuse subpanel.
I am going to upgrade the subpanel in my house and need a little advice.

First of all What size panel should I put in?
    100 - 125 - 150?
The 60 that is currently in the house does seem to supply just enough power but I need to add circuits and would like to have more power available for the future.

I know I need #4 copper wire with the 100 and #1 copper with the 150 but what do I need for a 125 panel?

The garage to the house is about 70 feet of wire. Do I need to move my wire size up to accommodate this or is the #4 for the 100panel sufficient?

Last question is what size conduit do I need for #1 or #4 wire?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would think 100 amp is sufficient, but without knowing what you plan to use , hard to say.

125 amp feeder will need 3 #2 THWN Cu and 1-#6 THWN green in 1-1/4" PVC Sch 40.

For the 100 amp you can use 1" PVC Sch 40 with 3-#4 THWN and 1-#8 THWN Green for the equipment ground

150 amp will need 3-#1THWN and 1-# 6 THWN Green for the equipment ground in1-1/2" PVC Sch 40 conduit.

    Thanks for the quick answer.
I have a follow up questions to your response below.

What is the best way to purchase the wire?
Should I purchase 3 separate runs of #4 THWN and one of #8 TWN green.
    Or
Should I purchase 4/3 SEU and one of #8 green?

My main concern is code wise do you have to have your wires be color coded?
Red and Black hots, white nuteral and ground equipment ground?

Use the separate runs of THWN, you can get each in the colors or use colored tape.

Adding a separate ground to 3 wire SE cable is not allowed.

At work last night, my co-worker and I noticed a very large and intersting insect. It was well out of reach, prehaps 14-17' above our heads, but in a lighted area. It was resting, like it was diurnal (is that a word... like it was a day creature). It seemed sluggish and unresponsive to...
