    Monthly period while Breastfeeding
    I had my period back on Sept 5 2012 since I gave birth to my son on July 20, 2011. I was expecting my period before Oct 5 but no sign of any. I'm still breastfeeding. Would it be possible that I'm pregnant?

    It's possible you are pregnant, but because your period just returned and you are still breastfeeding, it could still be irregular. Wait another week and take a pregnancy test with your first morning urine.

    Breastfeeding as a form of birth control is very risky.

    You've had a period, but your body is still adjusting. You just gave birth, you're breastfeeding, so your period will be all over the place.

    Could you be pregnant? Of course you could. Treat this like any other pregnancy test. Test around 1 to 2 weeks after your period would have been due. If the test is negative wait until your next period is due and test again.

    If you wish to lower the risks (not eliminate buy lower) then talk to your doctor about going on the pill. The pill is okay while nursing.

    Back to back pregnancies really aren't good for your body.
