    Yellow tap water
Hello! I am wondering if there is a reason to worry if your home tap water from the city water company turns visibly yellowish for a few hours (at least). This morning we have noticed the color change in the water from the kitchen faucet (please see the photos). The running water had no visible residue or deposits, just a tad turbid and yellowish. At photo 1, a glass of filtered water is on the left for comparison, yellow water from the tap -- on the right. If you boil it and let it sit for a while, a layer of brownish flakes forms at the bottom (photo 2). Looks like the water is back to its no color now. Several people in the neighborhood have also noticed this color change. What could cause such a change? Any comment would be appreciated. Thanks, h.

Looks like the city was doing some work and disturbed some mineral buildup in the pipes and it got out 8into the main. If it's gone now you've flushed it out of your system. Good luck. Tom
