How does Allstate know when a driv lic is suspended?
My stepson who is on my policy went through a road block and was asked for 3 things. 1-driv lic
2-reg for car (in my name)
    3-proof of ins.

He had all but #3 but the car was and is insured. He got a tix for driving without insurance and was told to show up at the stated court date with proof of insurance and it will be dismissed.

Well he forgot to go to the court date (saying he had the wrong date in his mind) and then left to start a new job in a different state. So my husband had hire an attorney (for his son) to go in and take care of it - it was all taken care of (waived or fine paid, etc) prior to the 2nd date given YET when I was talking to my insurance agent about my daughter's policy, she asked me if I new that my stepson had a suspended drive lic. I explained the story to her. She just wanted to make sure I knew about it (20 year olds aren't always forth coming).

My husband called Sec of State and they said his son's record is clean. That Allstate and other ins offices pay a 3rd Party to check for suspension notices. My husband is upset and thinks Allstate is being sneaky for doing this. My rate has not changed or anything. My agent is very nice and I feel she is just doing her job. How do I defend her and tell my husband he doesn't need to hate them for doing what is legally their right?

They regually check all drivers listed on their policy. If you were in the office, the lady there may have run a quick scan as she sat there to see if there was any DL or ticket issues for policy changes.

Why would you think Allstate was being sneaky for checking your records?

What probably happened is the DMV listed the suspension when he missed the first appearance, and the removal was either not picked up or hasn't been picked up yet by the reporting bureau.
