    Do you think I'm pregnant?
I started my period on the 10th of September and I was supposed to ovulate on the 25th, according to an ovulation calendar. I had unprotected sex for only about five seconds on the 27th. My boyfriend did not ejaculate inside of me, but he came on my chest and then I washed it off in the water (we were in a hot tub during all of this). I know that ovulation calendars aren't 100% accurate, so I took Plan B One-Step about 17 hours after this all happened, even though it was supposedly after I'd ovulated. I'm concerned that I could be pregnant from pre- or the semen within the water in the hot tub. I'm really stressing about it. What are the odds that I could be pregnant? Should I be worried?

Are you concerned that the semen floating in the hot tub could have entered your vagina and gotten you pregnant?

No semen will not be alive in a hot tub. Actually long period in the hot tub has been known to kill the sperm inside of the man ( read some studies last year) Of reasons men have had trouble having children, use of hot tub was one of them.

He was in you and then you could have gotten sperm. Yes you could be pregnant. Agree the ovulation estimates are not near 100 percent.

You most likely are not, but will have to wait till you get your next period to know for sure

There's that, and I'm concerned that pre-*** could get me pregnant, even in those five seconds. I took Plan B, but I'm concerned that there's a possibility that I took it after an egg had been released. According to my ovulation calendar I ovulated two days before, but I know that technically speaking they aren't 100% accurate and that maybe I ovulated the night it happened, I don't know.

Well, as far as the semen floating in the hot tub... No that can't happen. The hot tub is so hot it would kill the semen if the chemicals didn't first.

Now as far as the pre-ejaculate, while it is possible, you took Plan B so you severely decreased the chances. Now you are playing the waiting game and have to see if your period comes when it is due.

Now, don't freak out, but the Plan B can, and most likely will, mess with your period. Possibly causing an early period-like bleeding or possibly 2 periods in one month.

I've taken Plan B once before and it never messed with my period. Hopefully it won't this time!

You shouldn't use Plan B as a form of birth control, it can be very dangerous. If you are going to continue to have sex you might want to think about using 2 or 3 types of contraception every time.

I don't, I usually use condoms. This is only one of two times when I've had unprotected sex, and both times I've take Plan B because I get so scared that the pre-*** will get me pregnant.

I used 2 methods, the pill and the condom and got pregnant not once, but twice. I was also told I was going through menopause and my daughter is now 18. Then I took a 6 month round of chemo that would cause me to be sterile. My 4th child is now almost 11.

One member used not 2, but 3 methods of birth control and still got pregnant.

If you are not ready to be a mother, please use multiple forms of birth control or stop having sex.
