Could I be pregnant I'm confused on how the cycle works still?
Ok so I was suppose to get my period on oct 1st 2012. My last period was sep 3rd 2012. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the 8th and 9th in which he came in me both times. Its now oct 4th and I spotted two different times with crampd and being kind of gassy. We had unprotected sex with no pull out on the 2nd and 3rd of October also. Otherwise we've been using condoms. Is it possible to be pregnant? Or do you only get pregnant when you ovulate.

You do need to ovulate to get pregnant, but, all women are different. The whole "women ovulate 2 weeks before their period" is an average. In other words 51% of women ovulate then. The other 49%, not so much.

Unless you know for sure when you ovulate, which would mean taking your temperature, taking ovulation tests, etc. etc. you can ovulate any time during your cycle. You can even ovulate while on your period.

So yes, it's entirely possible that you're pregnant.

Thank you so much for that answer. I have never spotted before and I had brown spotting twice in between this period cycle. I took two tests bothe said negative. But I took them before I had actually missed my period.

    It's too early to test.

I'd wait another week, then try a test. Make sure to use first morning urine, it's more accurate. If that test is negative then wait until your next period is due. If you miss that one then test again or get a blood test.

    Good luck. :)
