I just wanted to check in as my husband and I are trying for a baby and I am not sure if some of the stuff I have going on is still normal.

I have been off the pill now for four and a half weeks, I had two days of what I thought was my period on Sept 5 & 6 (but it wasn't very strong of a flow and it was brownish in color), then I have had nothing since.

I had some continuous cramping on only the left low side, started around Sept 8 and went on and off for days, it continued on more mildly up from around the 15 to about Sept 30.

Is this normal?

To me, when the cramping first began I believe my cervix was high and open (so I assumed maybe I was ovulaing already) and also had some increase in discharge around the 18/19th. Feeling around it doesn't appear that my cervix has lowered but is now closed. Measuring I am using my index finger and am able to insert it all the way and touch the cervix. I could be wrong and this could be "low" I'm not exactly sure, but from looking around online it doesn't seem to be. I took a pregnancy test on Monday afternoon and it was negative.

I am confused, and any advice/knowledge would be helpful.

The cramping was happening again this morning on the right side, and I guess has been happening a little bit (randomly) throughout the week.
