I love my friend. We knew each other from 5 years. At first he said he loved me. But I didn't have any feelings for him for being in a relationship. So I just avoided the topic. But after that he told me that he drink’s, smokes and that he is not a perfect partner for me.

But then still we used to talk daily for hours. I told him that I don’t need any perfect partner, I just need him. But he still says the same thing. I can’t think of anything except him. I need him in my life but now he is avoiding me. I really miss him. When he is drunk he says that he only loves me. But when sober he says that it was just an attraction. I don’t know what to do? I know that whenever he is drunk he opens up his secrets and when next day I ask him about all that he says yes it is true. But when I say him that he said he loves me. He says no he don’t, it was just an attraction. So my question is do drunk people speak truth?
