    Replacing a Temporary Employee
I am temporary employee and I have been working for my organization for 15 months. I was looking through their job posting list and, my position was listed. I asked my supervisor about it right away, and she confirmed that my position is being replaced and the department plans to replace me with someone on staff. The position was posted before I was told about it. Is there any kind of formal procedure that should have taken place, even though I am a temp? My supervisor's supervisor is the hiring director, and she hasn't addressed about the situation at all. Can she be reprimanded in any way for not discussing the situation with me? It has been a week since I found out, and they are holding interviews for my position. My supervisor also apologized for the way I found out

I don't think they need to apologize to you. Do you work for an agency?

I do work for an agency, but my recruiter didn't seem to have much to say about the issue. I appreciated my supervisor's apology. She is new by the way, my other supervisor who was there for most of my time moved on to another department in the company. I just thought there should have been some procedure.

I worked for Kelly Girls for many years and I just never expected anyone to consider me for a position that was up for grabs any temp job I worked for them.

I liked moving around at the time and didn't want a permanent position.

Your employer is under no legal obligation to inform you or to let you apply, even though it would have been nice.
It isn't always because they don't want you. If you were hired through an agency, they might have a whopping fee if you are hired as permanent.

Oh I see. My supervisor did say that I could apply. Thank you so much. Now I understand.
