Proof in Court
If you go to court because a law firm is suing on behalf of a collector, and it is for medical bills, do they still have to show where you originally signed for the medical services. Also if they show you were charged for a x-ray can you ask for proof, other then the bill from the hospital. Since people say up to 75% of medical bills are in error, do they need more then the itemized list from the medical provider? Thanks for your help.

Hello r:
I don't think you have to sign for medical service, but if you received them, you have to pay for it. I do think it's fair for you to ask them to itemize their bill.
However, if this bill is YOURS, and you're using the "I didn't sign" defense because you don't have the money or you don't want to pay, they're going to win a judgment anyway, and the pain they'll inflict is going to be worse.
Maybe you should try to settle.

Yeah anytime you go to Doc or Hospital they make you sign where you agree to pay them or assigned. As I said with so many medical errors, and one of the charges is for a x-ray supposedly given to my son when he was born, but I do not remember them saying they gave him one. My whole thing is are they all legit? When you go to Doc or hospital you get all these bills from things not associated with them(I guess services they contract from others), and its so frustrating... I just want to know if I'm paying for things I actually received. You go there they give sub standard service sometimes then charge a arm and leg and then you have to pay whatever they charge. Whole system needs a makeover.
