    Birth control confusion!
    I have a question about using the birth control pill, I have been on the Implanon for several years and just recently switched to the pill for the first time...

    I've been taking it regularly at the same time every day, but where I get confused is when my placebo pills start and I'm on my period. My period comes like clock work and I usually get off my period before I finish my placebo pills.

    My question is, if I had sex while I'm on the placebo pills, before I start the new pack, will I be protected or would I have to use a back up method?

    I would really like to know the answer to this question and really appreciate taking time to answer this for me! Thank you!

    During the placebo period you must use a back up method of birth control as these are only sugar pills and they are not to be considered a form of birth control.
