Stopping sebum production to control acne?
Does anyone know of the long term effects of stopping sebum production to control acne? I have been researching a few solutions that do this.. I am concerened that my skin will age a lot faster without the natural oils? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you have mild to moderate acne, use a gentle or anti-bacterial face wash. After washing your face, apply an oil-free moisturizer to prevent your skin from dryness. Then, apply your acne treatment. Over-the-counter pimple cream containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can help treat acne and stop sebum production.

Well, I am 33 and never had a problem with acne growing up. I break out now, from time to time. Recently started going to the tanning bed, and noticed my back is breaking out. My Doctor RXed a cream call "Bena-Clinze" (sp?)

It dries it out in No time. BUT it is very expensive!

You might want to ask your Dr. about this.
