It's an older move made perhaps 10 years ago or more.

A salesman is waiting for a contract from a third world arab prince. He is staying in a hotel room close by waiting by the phone for the call. He cannot leave the room for fear of missing the call and losing the sale. (it's possible he took the place of someone who died by waiting for this contract). He's losing his mental health as he's continuing to wait for this contract. I have a feeling it's an arms sale.

I tried Deal of the Century, Death of a Salesman, The Contract but not finding it. Had a feeling the salesman character was a William Macey, Danny Devito - edgy kind of character but not sure who it was - probably not those.
