Yes, and often of course the guy pulls out too late.
You will have to wait till she is due her next period and see if she misses it or not, If she gets her period you should be safe. If she misses the period, wait a week after and have her take a pregnancy test.
Yes it is very possible, just have to wait and see now.

Hi!
No judgement here, so take some deep cleansing breaths and chill out!
Yes indeed you CAN get pregnant from using the pull out method. There are sperm in pre-ejaculatory fluid (or precum). I've been pregnant once in my life and that's how it happened!
Just take a deep breath and RELAX. Remember to keep an open forum of communication with your girlfriend about this, any feelings of fear, whatever, just talk about it. From now on, use condoms and see if she can get on birth control. What country do you live in? I know in the USA if you are under 18 years of age, you can get free birth control from planned parenthood, they usually just ask for some type of donation.
Also remember, if she DOES indeed get pregnant, you won't know for a while. It takes 2 weeks for an egg to fertilize, and pregnancy symptoms won't show up for another 2-4 weeks afterwards. If you just had sex in the last few days, you can always try to get a hold of the "Plan-B" emergency contraceptive. It's not an abortion pill, but will prevent the release of an egg from her ovaries to fallopian tubes so that she doesn't get pregnant. You can only use this up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, after that it is ineffective.
Any other questions just let me know, good luck and remember to take a DEEP BREATH!

(It takes about 24 hours for sperm to fertilize egg, not 2 weeks, although it can vary by many hours because sperm survive up to 72 hours.)
A clinic/doctor's test can detect pregnancy within a week or so, while a home test needs about 3 to 4 weeks. They can vary too; women often buy several home kits to take a few days apart.
PS: It's refreshing to hear from a guy who is worried too. I take it this means that you will help her get the pill or patch.

Oh balls, I meant "days". Thanks for the correction, joypulv! :)

Actually it takes 3-5 days for the sperm to travel up the vaginal canal, through the uterus and into the fallopian tube where the egg is fertilized. Then it takes another 3-5 days for the fertilized egg to travel back down to the uterus where implantation takes place.

The advice quoted in blue above is completely inaccurate.
Unfortunately, you and your girlfriend are now playing the waiting game. You will have to wait to see if her next period comes when it is due. If not, she will have to test using first morning urine.

From WebMD: "Fast-swimming sperm can reach the egg in a half an hour, while others may take days. The sperm can live up to 48-72 hours." WebMD goes on to say that fertilization takes about 24 hours after the sperm enters the egg.
As for blood tests vs HPTs, this is from a doctor on healthtap.com (I assume typing rapidly):
"many urines can measure down to 25- 30 MIU a few even lower but the concemtartion of the urine can effect the accuarcy, but a blood test measures down to 5 MIU."

What WebMD doesn't go on to say is that this can happen if the conditions are "right." There are many variables that play into this such as cervical mucous, if the woman has an orgasm (orgasm helps the sperm to reach the egg), etc.

After the sperm enters the egg. It actually takes thousands of sperm to attack the outer shell of the egg to soften it so that ONE or TWO (in the case of identical twins) sperm can enter that outer shell to fertilize that egg.

Due to the typo's, and I don't assume he/she is typing rapidly, I find this even less of a scholarly article. Even if English was not this person's first language, it doesn't sound reputable at all.
Oh, but I forgot... If it's on the internet it must be true.
Now, for some good information. For those that are curious, it might be interesting to check out the following NOVA/PBS documentary. It is quite profound and very informative, just bear with the commercials.

Yea, I'm going to have to go with what the obstetrical nurse is saying and agree with her. I could've sworn I read something a few years ago that said something about "up to 2 weeks" for fertilization of the egg in proper conditions. I didn't know I was sort of right, thanks for clarification J9

Yes AFTER sperm enters egg. What is the argument there? What does the number of sperm have to do with this question?
Sure, I quoted a doctor who was typing rapidly, for free, with information that is available in many many other places, com or not. I didn't think 'if it's on the internet it must be true' - I read SEVERAL sites with the same information.
I stand by both my timelines.
I also don't feel like arguing today so am done with this thread.

Joy, watch the video I posted. After all, I am an obstetrical nurse. If you won't watch it, you won't be informed for future questions. This is all in layman's terms. And if you choose not to watch the video, you choose to stay ignorant to how fertilization occurs.
