I just started sixth form at the same school I've been at since I was 11, so I know a lot of people there, and a lot of new people have joined as well. In particular there is this boy, just going to call him J for this purpose. I have seen him around our town a little before, but never really knew anything about him. He is in my History class now, and on our second day back to school we had History. He sits in the middle of the classroom facing me and we can both see each other perfectly through the gap. Through that first lesson we kept catching each others eyes and I grew some kind of attraction to him: he is not the best looking guy in the world but he seems to be perfectly nice, and I read somewhere that that woman are attracted to men by what they hear, and the first time I saw/heard him, he was laughing so I guess that might have something to do with it.

So through the past couple of weeks, during our History classes, break times and lunchtimes, I have caught him repeatedly looking at me. Now I am quite shy with people I like, so I haven't yet spoken to him. I was planning on trying to start a conversation with him.

However yesterday I was in a café with a mutual friend and another friend of his, and these two people, lets say M and T, were talking about their boyfriends and girlfriends and M said, rather off hand, "Isn't J seeing someone now?" and, as J was coming to meet us, I obviously assumed they meant the J that I like. T said "yes, J is seeing someone." Shortly after this I left, feeling downtrodden and with the excuse that I had earlier hit my head doing PE.

So, I had worried a little that J was dating one of the girls he is friends with, he is friends with a lot of girls you see, but I shrugged it off because I assumed that, given all the eye contact and stuff, he wouldn't be doing any of that if he did have a girlfriend or such.

I don't really know what to do right now, I really do like him, but because of this, I am rather wary about talking to him and trying to make a bond with him, because in my mind he has been untrustworthy because he has been doing this and, well I just want advice and opinions on whatever.

He is a what 11/13 year old boy. They look. Doesn't mean he is a bad person.
You now know he has a girl friend so you need to not allow yourself to go overboard with feelings for him.
You guys are young and this is all typical.

Well you're still young.
He has a girl friend and if he is flirting with you, that is not cool. It could be that he is looking at you because you're looking at him. At any rate stop. No point in starting something that cannot be finished with him.
