How to evict a roommate who is on the lease
I have a roommate who is on the lease however she stole lap top and bose stereo system while I was out of town. I had her arrested today and told her she has to move out. Police officer said I should type up that conversation with officer as witness. What is the next thing I need to do. They Police advised me that I cannot change locks but I can start packing her belonging. She may be in jail for about 3 weeks. What is the next step I need to do or have landlord do next. She is late on rent for September, it was due on the 1st.

Restaining order might be a good first step... I would definitely contact your landlord and ask them what they can do from their end... and more importantly are willing to do.

And eviction is going to take well over a month in most cases...

What state would this be in?

Since she is on the lease, her issue is with the landlord. The landlord has to give her a vacate notice and follow up with an eviction order if she doesn't move.

You need to read your lease because you may be responsible for the FULL rent until a new roommate is found.
