At this stage of pregnancy the baby is still very small, and can't easily be felt. Flutters once in a while is all you will feel, and that's only if the baby is in the right position.

Don't be too concerned if you don't feel a lot of movement at this stage. In a few months you'll feel nothing but movement, and you'll wish that baby would settle down a bit. :)

If you are concerned you can always call your doctor. That's what your doctor is being paid to do, put your mind at ease.

    Congrats. :)

No, you're not. All first time moms worry. That's why we have doctors, and really, your OBGYN is there to answer any questions you have or any concerns. They've heard it all before, but they know that you're new to this, and that moms as a whole tend to worry.

I would highly recommend the book "What to expect when you're expecting". It helped me a lot when I was pregnant, and really helped to put my mind at ease about many of the things my body was going through, and baby was going through. It's a great book.

But really, most women don't even feel movement until their 20-22 week. Even then it's usually flutters. To not feel movement at 18 weeks is perfectly normal. :)
