Nope, I'm just astounded as to how they view the system as broken and are ineffectual to fix it. I guess it's not a priority. Which kind of brings us full circle to the original topic.

All Romney cares about is unfettered capitalism around the world and lowering his taxes by taking away anything that helps the people caught up in his extractionist approach to life.

He is about money, NOT people, unless you are as rich as he is. He wants his plutocracy to grow, and what else would you expect from a silver spoon, with the golden parachute.

Why do you think he wants the Presidentcy, to save the nation. He is certainly not going to save the 47%, he wants to save the 1%

That's why the world hates us because between the bombs blowing them up, and the businessmen who exploit them, its no wonder they are ready to throw rocks.

Again, is there something about numbers you don't understand? That and what the lefties here like to whine about, obstruction. You just want to paint conservatives (which is not necessarily the same thing as Republicans) as ineffectual. If we don't have the numbers we can't get past the roadblocks to reform now can we?

And if you want to talk about ineffectual just look at the unemployment rate and the price of gas. Oh wait, Obama wanted gas prices to "necessarily skyrocket" so I'd say he was effective in doing just that. Doesn't help the guy looking for a job fill his gas tank but he got his high gas prices.

    Hi Steve,

Do you think that an anti-intellectual approach to education is the answer?

If you think that your education system is a failure then you will need to look farther afield than just 'progressive education' or 'regressive education'.

    Tut,

Finding certain aspects of intellectualism troublesome does not preclude my support for intellectual pursuits.

Start with respect, self discipline and the other studies will fall into place. You have to make it meaningful to their daily lives then they will want to learn. School starts with the idea that they are preparing students for higher studies, so the few get the benefit and the many fall by the wayside, start teaching children manual skills at an early age, there can be less emphasis as the child matures

To think for themselves and challenge the drivel that's regurgitated to them every day for starters.

I say start with a safe secure school with many programs to address the children's individual needs, and a balance curriculum. These are kids, they have to be nurtured until they graduate as well as taught.

Safe, OK. Secure, OK. But liberal "nurturing" is why our schools are failing. Parents should nurture, teachers should teach. You have the roles backwards.

Parents and teachers have to work together to nurture AND teach. Both have to support each other in the best interest of the child. That's NOT backwards.

The PTA (parents/teachers association) use to be the hub for such cooperative relations.
