What should I do if I had lower back problems for a couple of weeks now?
Well lately when I get up in the morning I have a sharp pain going in my lower back and it really does hurt, I can't stand up for long because my lower back starts too hurt.

I had it for about three weeks now, I taken paracetamols for it but they don't work, I even lie down for a bit but when I get back up it hurts, so I'm just wondering do you think I should go and see my GP because both me and my family are worried.

    Thanks.

(acetaminophen, or Tylenol, to people in the US)

Back pain can be from just about anything! Usually it's a muscle strain or spasm that is helped by warm moist heat (tub), massage, sleeping on a good mattress, and wearing shoes that aren't worn unevenly, and not doing any heavy lifting.
But it can be your appendix, an ulcer, cyst (such as on ovary), or any number of conditions that can press on a nerve or cause pain in your bowel or abdominal organs or cavity.
So try ways to care for it as muscle pain so that you can tell your doctor you tried if none of them work, which will help figure out the next step.
