Measuring sands and sediments in pipes?
How can I measure the amount of sands and sediments in pipes?(when water is flowing and coming from well).I want to measure it exactly when it flows.I guess it may be possible by laser or something like this.
    Thanks.

Not a well expert, but in other pipes we inspect it with video, not sure how you can keep a seal on the pipe to keep pump suction and check it.

Have you discussed this with local well companies?

It's impossible to get into your water pipes to check for mineral buildup on the pipe walls. You can check for sand and sediment simply by placing a nylon stocking over a hose bib and letting it run. Why are you asking? Good luck, Tom

    Dear Fr Chuck.
    Thank for your answer.
But I should say that I have found some data in oil industry.but not many data in water well.(http://www.roscoemoss.com/waterwell-rossum.html
    http://www.roscoemoss.com/documents/TechMemo005-7RossumTester_000.pdf)
How do you inspect it with video?
Do you set it in the pipe or out of it?(is it working by laser?)
Would you please send me a photo during working with it?
And I should say that it is my project for a local company.(I am AM student )
