2007 Ford Escape will not go into gear, why?
I have a 2007 Ford Escape FWD. It has been a great vehicle thusfar until just today. I simply got into it to go to the store. When I put in to drive it gave a small jolt but took off with no issues. A half mile down the road when it should have shifted to 2nd gear it did not and my acceleration was lost. I stopped. Turned it off then restarted it and was able to get to 2000 RPM before it acted like it wanted to shift and again I lost the acceleration. I am stumped. I am truly hoping I do not have to replace the entire transmission

Have Ford run diagnostics on the car. It may be something unexpected, such as a faulty MAF Sensor and/or MAF wiring harness.
