My best friend and I like the same guy but for different reasons her reason I’m thinking is for his looks my reason was because we talk and joke around actually talk to one another. My friend doesn’t talk at all to him she’s so shy.. And I feel like he likes me also

The other day like last Monday my friend decides to get furious with me because supposedly I left her behind when me and the guy we both liked took a short cut to class. Usually throughout the day I go to classes with my friend so I’m still not sure why that was such a big deal.

So I ended up asking the guy if he likes her and he said yes which I don’t think is really the truth. And somehow because of me they are together but she never talks to him at all. She’s to shy and it pisses me off I’ll try to help her the best I can but she will just get mad at me.

So I want to tell this guy how I feel about him but I’m afraid my friend will get mad at me. But I’m only human I can’t help if we like the same guy and I think he likes me back but I’m still not for sure. Advice is appreciated

If you and your best friend like the same guy, shouldn't you be honest with her? You know how she feels so why take advantage of her shyness and fears and keep placing yourself in the middle of these two?

Maybe they both are shy toward each other. I think honesty with a best friend is the way to go here.
