Yes. 99.9999% likely it's a scam... People don't offer jobs to people sight unseen... without an in person interview. Especially unsolicited.

Have they asked or required you to send money for a "good faith gesture"?

If so run don't walk away.

They mass mail these out in the 1000's and 10's of 1000' each day to blanket emial addresses, scammers buy, sell and steal lists

Do yourself a favor and don't fall prey to this kind of offer. Report it as Spam and pay NO ATTENTION to this or [I]ANY OTHER[/I] OFFER SOUNDING TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

YET... being the operative word... they suck you in before they play you for a sucker...

Nobody.. and I mean NOBODY sends job offers unsolicieted to anyone...

Screwing with your head to start with... milk personal info out of you to sell to criminals... THEN once they have you hook, line, and sinker... they get you to send them money... as a good faith deposit.

Why exactly do you think that someone who knows absolutely nothing about you would want to hire you for a job they don't have a clue that you would or wouldn't be qualified for when they could simply put something in a local paper and get hundreds of resumes from people that actually are?

That's because no REAL offer will ever come unsolicited via email. They send them out by the tens of millions, that's why they are called spammers.

Not knowing how this one would end up, but there are several scams to these types of emails.

1. they just get your personal info, they ask for ID numbers, names addess and more, often a bank account so they can "deposit" money into.

2. They are shipping stolen goods, they have stolen items sent to you, and you ship them out. They can't be traced as easy when caught.

3. They are doing money cleaning. They may pay you from illegal money, and you ship out goods, so there is little tracking back to them.

4. They send you money to ship things out, but you have to resend money by wire of money that is left. At that point, in a few months, the checks they send are stolen, and you owe bank all the money back.

This sounds like one of those organizations that steals credit card numbers, purchases stuff in the u.s. has it shipped to an unsuspecting saps home (you) and gets you to mail the items somewhere else, like europe or africa.. where law enforcement track the stolen credit card purchases right to your door..
