    Cold air return basement
How high off the floor should the cold air return be,for the best results? Would a vent at the ceiling work attached to the cold air return duct? I just insulated my basement and want the best efficiency.Thank you.

Basements are always colder at the floor level. A cold air return should be about 5-6" off the floor. Putting one at the ceiling short circuits the air flow and you get little distribution.
