Code 72 thermal cutoff on a carrier heat pump
My status light (amber) flashes seven times and then two times so I assume that is a 72 code. On the inside pannel it says 72 is a "Thermal cutoff" event, but I cannot find anything to tell me what that means.
    Carrier website is no help.
Heat and fan works, but the air conditioning stopped working this morning and the house fan will not run in cool mode.
The coupling joint at the condenser outside frosts up.
    Any ideas?
